Buying a superjet. VERY CONCERNED!!!

Finally found a 97 superjet, made plans to look at it and the guy sent me some pics via cell phone, turns out its a square nose! We agreed on 1700 for the 97 (great deal!) but this thing is either a 94 or 95. (BIG LET DOWN!!!) What are the square nose worth? and is the round nose THAT big of an upgrade? please give opinions cuz was supposed to go meet him 3 hours away tomorow 3-11-10. What should I do?

Re: Buying a superjet. VERY CONCERNED!!!

It is not worth $1700..I will tell you that much.

For a 3 hours drive, you better be getting a GREAT deal...and unless its modded with a Bpipe and other mods...A great deal would be like $700 or so.

If it was local, I would give up to $1000. I gave $1100 roughly for my 94 with Bpipe and other mods.

If the dude doesn't even know how to tell what year it is though, don't expect him to know jack about the condition of the motor and other parts on the ski.

Had my heart set on a round nose. This square nose should be a 701cc but how does it compare to the round nose? or does it?
should I hold out for the round nose?

Bone stock except for the intake grate and prop.

If he doesn't even know what year it is, how does he know it's a 701?

Im assuming its a 701. he has no idea. He sent me a picture of it via cell phone and I matched it with the 94-95 from this link. http://www.dalusionfwx.co.nz/yamaha_page.html

Find a member here that's closer to the seller, and (more importantly) a member that knows more than the seller does about his own ski, and ask them to take a look at it for you. Maybe offer to pay them for their time, as it could save you some money...

Re: Buying a superjet. VERY CONCERNED!!!

he just called me back saying he would take 1300 or 1400.

Oh yeah, it comes with a crappy home made trailer that I was going to tow on a car trailer because the tires are so dryrotted and a js550 that doesnt run. and wouldnt only sell superjet. package deal only. Sound like hes doing some spring cleaning getting rid of some junk?
