701 superjet with white/oily substance all over carb and intake manifold.
I have a 701 superjet that ive had a few issues with. Within the first week of owning it, it developed a knock at idle only. I rebuilt the top with wiseco wrist pins/bearings. Still knocks at idle. Now I've got a white oily substance, similar to what ive seen when water gets into a 4 strokes oil, all over the carb/intake manifold and even some on the head. The ski was also bogging on me today on the way in. DId I blow a gasket somewhere?

I made an intake gasket in a pinch out of a roll of fiber gasket material. It ran good for a couple of rides, but after the second ride I noticed some seepage that looked like what you are describing. I made another one out of the rubberized fiber material and it seems to be holding up without the seepage.

well i know when i busted my exhaust pipe and the temp in the engine dept got hot i noticed that all the lubrication i had on the motor was become white from the heat. you said it was bogging check your exhaust. i think the white is just from the heat.

Re: 701 superjet with white/oily substance all over carb and intake manifold.
Now that I look at it closer. I see oily gas on the tab on the cylinder head. This means that the oil must be coming from somewhere above the cylinder head. Which also means, that the only way that oily gas got on top the head is that I spilled it when I was working on the fuel lines. hmmm.

Re: 701 superjet with white/oily substance all over carb and intake manifold.
The white oily substance is seawater mixed with gas/oil.Had this problem myself when running much too rich mixture + open airfilter.
Caused knocking and even little backfire through the carbs and sprayed fuel/oil over the cylinderhead. Mixed with seawater it became with oily substance (Milk).
What I can see on your pics is exactly the same it looked like on my ski. Propably your spark plugs are dark/black and maybe wet from too much fuel.try a smaler Low-Jet inside the carb or try higher Pop-off px. and it will work again.

Re: 701 superjet with white/oily substance all over carb and intake manifold.
Well I cleaned out the carb and it looked great. The diaphram is stretched slighty so i am ordering a new one this week. After fooling with it for hours I am still clueless on what could be causing this. I dont understand why its knocking and i don't understand why its bogging. Its a mid range bog. It runs great up top but has a hesitation before it really goes. Also the ski will not idle at all. It needs throttle to just stay running. Along with the idle knock. I now believe that my head gasket is possibly blown because I have new signs of oil just below the cylinder head. I'm really confused by this one though.
I did take a look at my low end adjustment on the carb and it was about 1.75 turns out. It will not start at all with the screw in any further. I have a 132.5 main jet and what looks like a 120 pilot.
Are those the stock jet sizes and what are the stock screw settings?
