Winterizing ?!?!

I have an 07 gtx lmtd and I have yet to have it winterized due to work and health and family issues... Am I screwing something up by waiting so long or possibly not doing it at all?

thanks,
Kevin

What area do you live in? If the water has some room to expand you shouldn't really have any problems. I didn't have time to winterize my ski before the cold set in, so I wrapped it in a heated blanket

I live in Atlanta, GA area. My ski is in my garage and has a cover on it. It got really cold for about two weeks. Like down into single digits a couple of nights but since then it hasnt been to cold just in the mid 30's for lows. Looks like we have a couple more nights coming up into the low 20's but from here on out i bet it starts warming up.

If it is an attached garage, you have nothing to worry about. I would at least put some sta-bil or seafoam in the fuel.

Re: Winterizing ?!?!

My friend left his ski un-winterized as well. We live in Ohio. Its damn cold here. Today it is below 0. I told him what he needed to do to winterize it, but hes lazy and hard headed. It makes me mad to see his ski go to waste. Is it to late for his ski? And its in a barn, with no heat. Im assuming if theres any water in there it sure is frozen. But will happen to the motor?

Re: Winterizing ?!?!

Any water that is in the ski will definitely freeze, and if it has no room to expand it will crack whatever passage it may be in. So I guess he will find out this spring what being lazy may or may not cost him.

I attached a pic from a sprinkler system that froze on our job. Just an example of the strength ice has.

Good photo considering most of the country has been hit hard by freezing weather. Check this out, just like the sharks at GM and Ford are circling the battered Toyota, you can exploit your buds laziness by picking up his freeze damaged unit for pennies on the dollar, use what you want and sell the rest on Ebay.

Cold and hard, that's true but if you don't, someone else will.
