Water in oil

I have converted my 2004 supper charged 4 tec to an open loop system. It's a long story as to why but it's done.

My problem is I'm getting water in the oil. I know that if I'm going to be towed I need to pinch off the water line. That's not the case, However I do shut the ski down and float for up to a half hour.

The question is how in the world is water getting into the oil. The last time it happened I'd been out for 30 minutes and took a break with the ski half way on the beach. I also floated in calm water for about 30 minutes.

I have water and oil on the bottom of the ski, as well as water and oil in the crank case breather. Did not discover any of this until I got home which means the engine ran for at least 20 minutes with water and oil mixture. The engine was running strong with out missing or backfireing.

I have cleaned the engine out, replaced the oil filter but do not want to run again until I find out where the water is getting into the crank case.

Sure would like some help from anyone that may have a clue.

Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Re: Water in oil

what did you do with the impellor shaft in the water pump if you didnt put a nut back on it will leak into the crankcase I normally cut the plastic impellor off which leaves the square nut to put back on as its left hand thread. this puts pressure on the shaft seal.
The oil and water in the hull will be from a breather? the oil level will be overfill with water and that makes them push oil out the breather tube.
