Stretch Bolts. Why????

Anyone know why Bombardier (Rotax) uses stretch bolts for many of the parts (ie. head, camshaft, connecting rods) in the 4tec other than to make more money on the consumer everytime they have to open up a motor? I have worked on many types of high performance 4 strokes (in cars and motorcycles that rev well over 8K) and 2 strokes and have never had to work with these.

Can't understand from an engineering perspective why there is a technical need.
