RXP / RXT VTS questions

As some of you know I own both these machines. The RXT is a much heavier machine , is propped different and carries 3 people yet has the same 215 as the little guy. For some reason the factory put the VTS on the little one and it really should be on the big one and that raises a couple of questions:
  • Can the RXT have VTS? Could you order it from BRP when new ?
  • Will RXP VTS fit the RXT and whats involved ?
  • Is VTS stock on the RXP or did you have to order it ?
And you know , anything else you can tell me about this. What I'm thinking is setting up this retro fit this winter when I have the S.C.'s off since I'll have the ski half torn apart anyway .......... Oh and a couple more questions:
  • The prop, kids picked up a rock in the grate ( don't ask me how ) and it nicked the blades but not bad, do we file it down? send it out ? buy new ?
  • Anything else I should do over the winter other than the prescribed maintenance and checks ?
As always, thanks in advance for the help.

Re: RXP / RXT VTS questions

Check out parts diagrams for the 08 GTX Wake Edition. It's got VTS from the factory with the same hull, etc. Also take a look at the RXT-X, it's got it too.

Re: RXP / RXT VTS questions

you couldnt get vts on the rxt when new
rxp s/c came with vts standard but 155hp didnt get it.
send the prop out to be straightened and sharpened and replace the nylon wear ring

to retro the vts will be quite expensive and involved if you want to do it for a little more speed you can get a pump wedge from riva which trims up the nozzle to increase speed.

Re: RXP / RXT VTS questions

Ok and thanks, I wanted the vts on the RXT to make it handle better. I've been in situations where I'd liked to have raised the nose in chop for a better ride or easier handling with passengers etc. and since sites like Ebay are littered with used trim units and acc. I figured I'd check and see how easy it was to retro.

I was involved in auto design some years back and we always used the same platform for several models >>> making it easier to build. eg: all truck platforms had the same wiring loom regardless of eq. level intended and then some shared the loom with cars so >>>> you can see where I was going.

Thanks guys !
