Rxp fault code

Got an rxp that is giving a fault code PO339 what is the fix for this fault?Ifound this on seadoosource, com P0339 - Crank signal fault not plausible with cam signal
Does this mean that the timing of crankshaft and cam shaft not correct?
What is the easiest way to manually turn crankshaft?

Re: Rxp fault code

Whats the history ski not running? been apart? stopped while riding etc?
Its hard to turn the motor with the driveshaft in so cranking in drowned mode (throttle fully open) is the easiest or with the plugs out you can turn it with a socket on the supercharger nut turn it anti clockwise.
If the ski wont run I would remove the rocker cover and see if the cam chain is in place
If the ski runs then it may be an old code from someone cranking it with either the cam or crank sensor unplugged. You need to get it cleared then see if it comes back

Re: Rxp fault code

Thanks Jason.
The history is unknown to me.When i got it found the hoses of the supercharger and water system hoses disconnected.Looks like the pevious owner was about to pull engine out. This what i have done so far.
Removed rocker cover and checked cam chain and all valves stems still intact. One rocker cover bolt hole stripped will install helicoil.
Removed plugs and done compreesion check found 130 PSI and 140 PSI on cylinders.
Has 128hrs on ski, bought a charger kit and tools to overhaul charger.
The ski did start twice without the hoses on this was unintentional.
Also found a spare instrument panel in frount staowage.
If i swop over the panel do i need to get ecu/mpem programmed.

My intention now is to remove all the sensor connectors clean them reconnect install all hoses and go down to seadoo agent and get them to read ecu and then clear all fault codes and start fresh.
Would you agree or have any other surgestions,i am new to 4 strokes but am an aircraft engineer and have rebuilt loads of 2 strokes and V8's.But thats all old technoligies.

Re: Rxp fault code

To see if the crank position sensor is the problem check for 190-290 ohms between terminals A-5 and A-19 of the ECM connector.

Re: Rxp fault code

Download the manual at the top of the seadoo page (not 4 stroke) and go through the ohm teasting for the sensors. There was issues with some early skis having broken flywheel bolts so hpoe its not that.
