RPM light

Got a question, I have a 2004 rxp with 35 hours on it. I have only ridden it twice since I have had it and this past weekend, I noticed the light below my rpms was coming on pretty often. Sometimes when out of the water, sometimes on turns, and a few times when going about 15mph it was blinking on and off? any ideas on what this could be from? and I have not changed to the metal washers yet, going to after the 4th, could the light be telling me that I have blew the washers apart?

Re: RPM light

also, the water was pretty rough and I noticed that I could only get to about 7500 rpms even when wot, but too rough to get anywhere close to top speed? is the rough water the cause of the low rpms?

Re: RPM light

I had a similar problem this year . My check engine light would come on when we were at wot sometimes I didn't experience the drop in rpm. After looking around on here I changed my oil to amsoil marine 4 stroke and also changed my spark plugs. We had it out all week on vacastion on lake anna and had no problems. The amsoil is expencive but I think that was my problem. what kind of oil do you have in your ski?
