Re: Oil Filters

Dude,
I bought these....... yes they fit right in and yes they LOOK like K&N but they're not. ( they are red though ) The Ebay seller is a good guy and he's a fast shipper but these are not K&N. I don't have the box anymore but I recall them being like Hi-Ho brand or off brand Chinese stuff...... and don't quote me on that.

Being said ; Top dog says only run genuine stuff ..... and he's right but it's your motor.

There is a guy on Ebay selling a winter tune up that looked good........ gallon of XPS oil, plugs, filter, gaskets etc. all genuine for $70.00 plus $10. to ship Didn't look bad to me.

Sup 2 you........

Re: Oil Filters

I appreciate the info about these not being K&N, I am going to follow up on that as I am not easily fooled but K&N is selling the filters:

Yes sir, those are it however mine came from the Ebay link you added. Like I said, he's a good guy and a fast shipper so I don't take anything away from him.

Thanks!!

Re: Oil Filters

I contacted the eBay seller and asked:

Are these filters K&N Brand or as you say, "K&N filter media". I have been told by a fellow PWC person that says he bbought from you and they were not "K&N" byt some Chinese brand?

He answered:
good questions and concerns. We buy these in bulk.. 5000 at a time, from the manufacture that makes "this filter". It fits several ROTAX motors -not just PWC. They are tested and approved BY BRP a few years back after extensive testing. We sold OEM but went to these some years back for a better deal in our service dept and sale on ebay. They do have the 2-3 BRP oil filter part numbers on the box. Also K&N farms all mfg out... to where... like everything... China. THey put it in a K&N box.. some listed on ebay. Autozone has it for like $19 each but the costs have been lowered now that they are mainstream... maybe $12-$14 .. we dont keep up to date with that since we try to have the best deal we can do.
We have the best deal for the kits hands down and as you can see on all of our listing on ebay we have 100% rating, many repeat buyers over the years, we even supply other shops and rental agencies. Hope this answers your questions and if we can help with an order .. thank you.

He answered qiuckly and he is correct, feedback is very good with some addressing this item. I have stocked up on OEM filters and I would buy K&N brand but I would not save money with these although I suspect they are just fine.

Re: Oil Filters

I have no problems with k&n but as a dealer workshop we only sell genuine and as oil changes are only done once a year most people dont mind paying for a genuine filter, if racing and doing lots of oil changes then a cheaper "quality" filter will be benificial.

Re: Oil Filters

I agree, I just detest Bombardier for way overcharging for maintenance items.
I buy Jet-Lube 769 spray; the MSDS for Bombardier lube (now called XPS) at Parker Yamaha pointed me to that.
The Jet-Lube is hard to find and can only be bought with a stream spray and I have not found a nozzle that was a "misting" spray to fit. Bombardier is diabolical in that respect.
