Re: need engine RXP

Contact Jon at wildfunp@yahoo.com He's a Seadoo guy in the Northwest that runs a rental fleet. I know he's parting out several RXP's from his rental fleet.

Good hunting.

Re: need engine RXP

when a dealer prices a "new" long motor from seadoo they are $30,000 nzd which is around 21,000 usd it wasnt a typo they say its so people dont buy their engines and put it in other things like boats etc but they dont drop the price if its to replace a blown motor in a ski! A new rxp here is around $23,000 so go figure over $7k more for a motor without electrics s/c etc etc.

I had no idea on the pricing Jason and I apologize. Obviously I need to get out more often . 23k for a new RXP? Ouch !

So I see. I'm wondering..... import duties ? taxes ? or a complete gouge....... don't know. But this I do know ( from the auto bus. ) U.S. mfg. frequently make cars in the U.S. and Mexico but destined for overseas markets and checked by the VIN. In fact a U.S. dealer will not honor a warranty for a car built in Canada but sold in the U.S. on the grey market.

I'm thinking, that we here in the U.S. could help out in certain circumstances. Why couldn't we / you buy say an engine from SBT or parts in general and just ship it to NZ ? Considering you pay about 3 times what we do, there's plenty of room for shipping.

I took your price of 27k NZ for a RXTX and your exchange rate and that makes the machine about $18630. U.S. which is about 6k over what you can really buy it for at the dealer so yeah, somebody's making it.

We beat the U.S. pharmaceutical companies with on line and out of country buys, we can certainly beat the pwc guys, yes?

Re: need engine RXP

if we werent a seadoo dealer we would just import direct and sell cheaper but there are benifits to being a dealer (parts,BUDS,warranties etc) so while it sucks theres not much we can do about it

sorry for all this posting in your thread Bill !
