| Re: Fogging s/c motor If you don't want to fog it start it up once a month for 20 seconds.
The thing is even after fogging you will never get all the water out of the exhaust. The dealers do not even pull the water box off. This is also a good time to change the oil and filter so you don't have to mess with it in the spring.
The machine should have been flushed good inside and out if run in salt water before put away and dried out in the hull inside area.
You can also pull the spark plugs and spray oil in the cylinders sparingly, then turn the thing over without the ignition using the starter. Do this twice as it helps coat the exposed valve stems. Don't put too much oil in the cylinders and creat a hydraulic lock. A tablespoon or two of oil will do in each cylinder.
I keep mine indoors too at 40-50F but still coat the engine externals and the jet pump with ACF50, Rust Check or similar product. The battery gets topped charged once every month. Keep the seat and front hood loosely latched for air circulation. You can easily do a better job that the dealer since you have constant access and are indoors. Many dealers store the machines in unheated areas or even outdoors. The only way to gaurantee TLC is to do it yourself, you are not on the time clock trying to maximize profit.
Depending on the operating hours and age I'd consider the supersharger for winter maintenance.I believe the 2007 does not have the metal clutch washers either, which I strongly recommend you evaluate.
