'06 RXT starter relay ... need help!

starter was only clicking when trying to start.
I jump the relay and it cranked up, so I ordered a new relay, but
how do I get the old one off? It is all loose from motor, etc, but
I can not figure out how to get the 2 screws off that are holding cables to relay.
One is POS cable going to battery. Other is NEG cable going to starter.
I can't get a socket to fit and screws actually look like they have round heads
instead of octogon or whatever. Do I need a special wrench to take out these screws?
How do I get off? The dang red rubber around these parts aren't helping either.

Did replacing your relay solve the problem. I have 05 RXP that is doing the exact same thing. Just wondering if that fixed it. Also when you say "jumped the relay" did you just take the cable from the starter to relay and the cable from battery to relay and directly connect them? Thanks

Re: '06 RXT starter relay ... need help!

jumping the relay is bridging across the 2 10mm nuts on the relay which bypasses the internal contacts and confirms the battery and starter are good if it wont crank bridged start with a battery load test chack all connections inc grounds at the engine then the starter itself
the relays give trouble the wiring and starters are very reliable.
