Re: 02 4tec Help

bridge across the 2 10mm nuts on the relay with a spanner and it will crank if the battery and starter are good.
that fault code is extremely common and wont give runnig issues and could be years old if the ecu hasnt been cleared.
if you try and start skis with a flat battery or faulty battery the voltage drops below 9volts and the systems start going crazy and you end up with codes like that as well as others.

Re: 02 4tec Help

The code went away but how do you jump the relay..it is sealed in the relay box?I can put my hand on the relay and feel it when it clicks?could the battery just be to weak to start it?I cleaned off the grounds on the motor...........

Re: 02 4tec Help

mmm some early 4 tec skis used a sealed large relay box unlike the later versions which can be bypassed easily, start at the battery by getting it charged and load tested if it drops below 9v on a load test replace it.
next make sure the motor is not siezed when was it running last? put a long screwdriver up the pump and see if the prop will move.
then try to get a jumper lead onto the starter terminal and direct to the battery + if it cranks replace the relay (expensive from memory) I have never replaced one but have had one in stock for years,
