I have a 4 tec that I pulled the motor out of because it was said it had motor damage.mechanic told the guy I bought it from it would cost 4000 to fix it,anyway I pulled motor and there was no damage,i pulled head and everything looked good.only thing I found wrong was the bearings in the pump were shot.....which when they went it broke the carbon ring and he said he got a little water in the hull..my question is,which I never checked is putting a battery in the ski to see if I have power to the gauges and pump ect.If I do put a battery in it now to check with the motor out and wires unplugged from motor will it hurt anything?I know the motor needs to be grounded to the electronics..I did check all the fuses and all before I pulled the motor out and there were none blown???????

You could do it, but your going to have tons of codes thrown, need to have the ecu hooked up, and all grounds need to be made.

I would just wait till u throw the motor back in though,
