Yamaha USA Sucks...

Yep it's true. They would rather risk lives then do the right thing and create a recall. I know I need to get over it but I won't be suprised when I read about some one drowning due to Yamaha's incompatance.

Re: Yamaha USA Sucks...

I'm guessing he's referring to this: 07 FXHO cooling hose recall

Wow I thought they learned their lesson with the "Star" line transmission issues. The NHTSA forced them to recall the bikes due to the tranny locking up. People were getting tossed off their bikes and getting killed. It took several deaths before anything was done.

Re: Yamaha USA Sucks...

Those recalls sucked on the road star. Yamaha only paid 9 hrs to pull the motor, split the cases, install the new tranny componets and put it all back together. I got it down to about 5 hours and did probably 20 of them. The road star warrior was the real bytch with all the FI stuff in the way.

You are correct sir ! Most details are in that thread. My few phone calls to Yamaha Corp. are meaningless I'm sure. Kip your right, it might take a funeral or two. My hose popped , my hull filled, my ski was wobbling all over the damn place. I almost lost the thing but I guess I got lucky. If I was a offshore a bit further I'm a memory so I'm pretty worked up about this thing....

Yeah, I agree on the RSW fi junk. The regular Roadstar's are not bad at all. Once the engine is out they are actually preaty easy. The worst part of either bike is when they have it loaded up will ill fitting aftermarket junk. It makes it fun when you have rusted/stripped fasteners and exhaust flanges overtightened into a u-shape.

Which hose is claimed to fall off?
