Ski-ing behind the VX

Hey yall,

went out this weekend with a friend of mine from high school, it was me my fiance him and his g/f and my bulldog. i took the girls and the dog to the sand bar, then came back and picked up him and we went to the sand bar, rode around for a few minutes having a good time then decided to try and ski.

He was really good at skiing so he had me hold it wide open while he zipped back and forth. The Vx did a really good job of gettin him up on the ski's with no problem, even a better job then his cousins boat. It was probly the best time to ski because on the whole lake and river there were only like 6 other boats and 1 sea doo. Everything was really smooth.

i tried the skiiing and getting up wasnt the problem, it was the cuttin back and forth, i could do it, but it didnt look good at the same time lol.

it was a nice weekend and had alot of fun. Weather is still hot during the day, and i still got about 3/4 tank after 3 hours riding Sunday. So regardless of the temp im going again soon.

Re: Ski-ing behind the VX

Hey guys ive been kneeboarding for the last 2 sundays in off shore weather, me and my cuz on the ski and a friend on the kneeboard and the VX pulls with absolutely no problem. approximatly 400 lbs on the ski and about 150lbs on the board and no problem. But most of the time its only me and the person on the kneeboard, i dont like to load the VX that much.
Happy riding guys Keep it SAFE.

Re: Ski-ing behind the VX

We ski behind ours. I normally have my 13 year old leave it in Low Mode for his "pleasure" riding (it goes 50 in Low Mode which is plenty for him), but for skiing we use Normal Mode. It pulls me out fine, with my son and wife on the ski. We use about 24 mph on the speedometer for someone on 2 skis and 29 for slalom skiing.

Re: Ski-ing behind the VX

The VX goes around 30-35 in low mode, it tops out at 53-54 in normal speed

Re: Ski-ing behind the VX

Not disagreeing, as our ski's may be different, but my low mode is 1000 rpm less than high mode. Mine goes 54 with me on it in high mode, and 47 with me in low mode. Grant (age 13) gets 50 in low and 56 in high (when I used to let him use high).

Maybe my speedo is off...haven't put the GPS on it yet.

Ah makes sense, yeah the GPS numbers would be way more accurate, the dreamometer cannot be trusted.
