Fenders for a PWC? Is it a good idea?

So I've been looking at fenders for the Yamaha I just picked up and can't seem to figure out if they are worth buying and which style to choose. I think it would be a good idea since placing the ski up against a saltwater dock doesn't sound nice but they all seem to have drawbacks.

Which style seems best? Anyone with experience let me know your opinions. This is our first ski and its beautiful. I don't want to screw it up.

Thanks.. I've seen those but wasn't sure if the suction cups would stay or not. Atleast they are half the price of the other styles.

I use something similar to what voltrex posted above and the suction cups stay on fine. Just make sure you dip 'em in the water first and they'll hold nicely. Only downside is they leave water marks.

I got a pair of the Hul-Huggr ones. I especially like the hook under the rail. Really keeps it secure, you can actually ride with it still attached. I just need a cleat on the bow for the front one. The rubber block works to hold it in the storage compartment, until you open it. Guess I could secure it under the seat also.

I use the same fenders, and the problem is that they stay on too good. The lower suction cup sits low on the ski and is a pain in the butt to get loose after you pull away from the dock. You have to do a contortion move to get it un-stuck.......pretty embarrassing to fall off your ski pulling one of these loose.

Re: Fenders for a PWC? Is it a good idea?

I ended buying the real Yamaha body hugger fenders. Cost a pretty penny but nothing compared to rage and anger I'd have over scratching the hull or doing damage to the ski. They are big and easy to put on. Hopefully they work well I check them out this weekend.

I've posted it previously, but I modified the strap bumpers with a bungee for easy attachment.

Re: Fenders for a PWC? Is it a good idea?

Those are what I use. As mentioned the heavy plastic that clips under the rail really keep them from moving. Also they fit on the storage nicely. I have a pair on both ski's. Do not use them much but nice to have when latching a few ski's togather.
