salt water use? Look at motor mounts. Are they corroded? They probably need replacing if you see lots of corrosion.
Oil filters rust out and develop leaks if ski is put away wet. I smear grease all over em.
I hope/plan to get at least 500 hrs out of mine.

I love mine.....going into my 5th season (just under 200 hours) with it and NEVER had any issues whatsoever. (insert "anti-jinx" here!!!) The key is, as with anything else, proper maintenance and care. I've never tracked mine with a GPS, but on smooth water it would hold about 53 mph stock and with the few mods I have it will now hold about 56 mph on the dream-o-meter. Fast enough for me and plenty of power to pull a skier or tuber.

I have now 500 hours on and ride primarily in salt. Good clean up and regular maintenance (I do myself) will take care of it. Speed is 53/54 on GPS. Not the fastest but it is extremely reliable to me.
Have fun ride safe and join the AWA!
