'07 VX drive shaft leaking.....????

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and a few years new to the PWC world. I have 2 '07 VX Sports and one is taking on some water. When the ski is in the water it seems to be slowly bubbling in around what I believe houses the pump, directly above where the intake grate would be. With it out of water and on the trailer I filled the hull with water and noticed a slow drip from under the ski coming from around the driveshaft. Any thoughts as to what would cause this and what kind of $$$ I'm looking at to fix. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: '07 VX drive shaft leaking.....????

hello
i just bought 2 used 2008 vx 110 and the previous owner told me they just have been recalled from yamaha for prop shaft impropper sealing, the job was free of charge for the owner and the only thing i can see is a new gasket sealand bed around the aluminium plate surrounding the drive shaft.
maybe you should ask your local dealer for any recall.

Are you talking about the triangular shaped plate on the inside of the hull that goes around the driveshaft? One of the bolts on mine is stripped out

I was told by yamaha that unless its leaking they wont fix it so I guess I'll have to prove that its leaking. Is that what happened with yours?
