07 FX HO Problems HELP!

First a little history, I posted a back-fireing problem the first part of September and was instructed to replace the plugs. Plugs were replaced and has been solid up to this point.
The engine will idle on the hose but when on the water it eventually goes dead. Also, if I give it full throttle then motor looses power. I have to keep the throttle about half way to 3/4. for the ski to run. Initially there is some hesitation and the exhaust sound funny (sputtering )This obviously results in loss of power...my speed is about 10mph less then normal. But it will run all day at that speed and sounds normal. Anything outside that throttle window and it hesitates, sputters etc. Back in September when it was back-fireing it blew a hose off the exhaust and I re-attached it... no problems for several months. Could something have happened to the exhaust which is now causing my problems. I have checked the compression, changed the plugs again, fresh fuel with stabilizer, checked hoses and clamps, air filter looks good, the low idle mode is off. I am at a loss here and would aprreciate any guidance. I think it has a leak some where but it puzzles me how it will run at mid throttle. I really do not want to take to dealership, so looking for advice. The ski only has 48 hours. THANKS AGAIN! This site is AWESOME!

Try running it without the air filter. Looks can be decieving. Make sure oil level is correct also.

Run it for 10 seconds, turn it off and feel heat from each individual exhaust pipe to see which cylinder isn't running.
Hold down buttons on dashboard and check for codes.
Where are you located?

Re: 07 FX HO Problems HELP!

Guys, Thanks for the responses. I know the oil level is correct and I have checked the codes on the dash which was 01 indicating normal. I will put it in the water and run it whithout the air filter and see what happens. I have checked the hoses and clamps and they seem secure and no holes are noticable. I will check the exhaust pipes on Tuesday and get back with you.
Another thought and not sure if this is normal but there appears to be more moisture/condensation under the air cover then what I have observed in the past. I am a little confused regarding the cylinders since the compression was 185/190.
I am located in the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area. Beautiful area for rideing, just a little chilly now! Thanks again!

Re: 07 FX HO Problems HELP!

Well, I finally had a chance to put the ski in the water. I tried running it with out the air filter and no change. I took the seat off and gave it some throttle and noticed water coming out underneath the exhaust fittings. Turns out that the top part of the exhaust was on but the lower section of the hose had worked it's way loose. Reconnected and everything is good. Thanks Again!
