spark plug question for ultra 250X

Hi all,

I have not pulled a plug yet, taking it in for the 10 hour 1st maintenance this thursday and they want to do a plug change at about 100 extra bucks. I said no, it runs great and will just carry a set of 4 with me. What is the stock plug used and where is the best place to get them. What has been any experiences of anyones with how long they last? This is my 1st jet ski, had bikes my entire life and plugs last forever in them, why do the not on this 4 stroke? or any 4 stroke jet ski? I would at least think they should last a season on a stock engine. thanks for all that can shed some light on a newbe here. Mike

Plug used are PMBR9. You can use the same used in a 15F (CR9EK) but these have no tip on them which you can buy a cheap lawnmower plug and switch them. Iradium ones that will suffice too. NGK makes these plugs and you can order them online @sparkplug.com or Babitts. The stock ones run about 18$ to 20$ each. Now I strongly suggest that you apply never-seize on the replacement plugs as these have a tendency to break off on removal. Just go real slow. Here's a major horror story

Re: spark plug question for ultra 250X

Hey Mikey, hope previous problem got solved !

I odered a set replacement set of plugs in October 05 from Advance Auto Parts. Had this "thing" about wanting new plugs after burning off the Stabil in the spring.

When I picked them up, and paid the price, I somehow lost that "thing"....

They are still new in the wrappers, resting comfortably in my tool box. 140 hours later, 15F is still runing fine on the originals.
