rusty colored cooling water from exhaust

I have a 2005 STX 12F that is stored out of the water on a lift. It is used in fresh water but I think the previous owner rode some in saltwater.

I put the ski on the trailer this weekend to change the oil and do some other maintenance. After I changed the oil/filter and ran it on the hose for a few minutes, I noticed that the cooling water that exits out the exhaust was a little off color... rusty colored. Is this normal?

As I tip my nose up in the air to get as much water out as possible after each ride, I don't have an answer for you.

But, it is impossible to get every drop out.
