If you look at the air inlet to the engine it is up high close to the seat. To get water up that high while upright you be sinking. With that much water you wouldn't be just riding fat dumb and happy. I suspect as they likely did that it got rolled over and uprighted in the wrong direction or something else of a negligent manner.

Maybe this is not what happened but if I checked the hull plus all the hoses, hull, shafting area and they were fine and the rider stated the machine rode normally up to the point where old hell broke loose with the hull full of water I'd not so readily grant warranty either.

"i am the owner and rider i never sunk it or rolled it "

Then someone else sunk it, rolled it the wrong way or did not flush it correctly.
Not sure what you want to hear other than the fact that you have to sell it, have it fixed or just use it as a door stop.

I think you need to get an independant tech to find out how this happened. Even with the drain pluggs out, it doesn't fill very fast, especially when moving.

IF you are being honest, something in the cooling system had to have worked it's way loose.

Go back thru the threads here, and get details on the recall for the 2003 12F. Provide that to the tech, as it was hard to see/find.

Screwed yes, rebuild most likely your best bet. MAybe hose popped off and kawi will cover it. Just use your kind words and tell them the truth and see what happens. I seen kawi take care of lots of ooopppses (is that a word?). If you are really desperate have wife or girlfreind use female intuition!!! Seen that one work before! Wife called Kawi corp, and viola pump rebuild!!! on my 900.

If you rode with companion 100% of the time, that will testify to your proper riding, time to Lawyer up.

Go back and search the threads. So you can detail to your counsel the issues this craft has had. While it has not been many, there is a slight history, including recalls that require the dealers tech's to perform. Discovery is a wonderful thing.

Expect any settlement to include a confidentiality agreement. So good luck, let us know if you get back riding, and if it broke your bank.

Re: i just bought the stx-15f i need help! pleas respond

I own a 06 15f, and have sucked water in through the intake. Just last week. I was lucky, I was right in front of my house when it happened. I didnt hydro lock the motor though. I believe the water came in through where the gasket should have been , under the compartment with the extinguisher. The dealer had recently serviced my machine, and I didnt do an inspection before putting it back in the water. I found the gasket loose in the bilge. I was perfecting a stunt Where I do a series of spins in a near verticle position. So the rear of the machine was low in the water. It started to feel out of ballance, I had notice a few moments earlier that it was porposing at higher speeds wich is uncommon. When it rolled on its side easilly durring a low speed turn , I new something was wrong . I brought it in and checked the bilge , it was half way up the block. The oil had the telltale milky color . I pumped it out as soon as I could and replaced it with a fresh 5 qts. The filter proved to be impossible to remove, even with multiple attempts with various styles of strap wrenches. so I brought it to the dealer so they could complete the flushing process. All was well the next day, And I was still running 68 mph last night. lesson learned, Over $250. later and I will never hear the end of it from my wife. I wish you better luck in the future. J.B.
