First Oil Change

I did my first oil change! Decided that it was just too much of a hassle to bring my ski to the dealer and got tired of paying outragous prices for something that I was sure I could do myself. I'll admit it was a bit of a PITA, but after following a lot of the tips here, I managed to get it done. Thanks for all the tips.

Just when you take off the filter, talk dirty to it, it will loosen her up!!! Just Kidding, Put front of trailer down on ground and get as much oil out as you can. When removing filter, put rags or paper towels under to catch spill. you should be fine.

I just did my second one, it was a whole lot easier than the first time. Kawasaki must really 'crank' on the oil filter tight. I tried the end cap wrench that everybody talks about in this forum and it kept slipping off. There is no room for one hand on the wrench and the other hand to hold the cap wrench on tight. I bought from Pep Boys the " RiteFit" 2515 compact strap type wrench which worked.

Also this time, I used the K&N filter with the nut on the end.

Good Luck.

Hey Mikey !

I suggest under the oil filter, that you use a childs disposable diaper.

Re: First Oil Change

Puck and Shu,

You guys are toooo funny. Hey just remember that an oil change is only as hard as she (ahem) makes it. Work with the ski, and keep her clean and you should have no problems. But something to be said about them dirty ones!!! LOL
