I have a 03 STX 12F that is Hydo-locked and I was wondering if anyone knew if a 05 STX 12F motor would just bolt right in????? I found one on Craigs list for a fair price! Also does the motor need to tore down, the head/ valves to get it in the Hull ????

It was tore down by a shop years ago supposedly through warrenty but when water damage was found I got the bill! it has a bad head and a some other dammage ??? can remember but the cost of the head is almost worth buying a used motor if you know what i mean!

The motors should be the same. It is a tight fit but all you need to have off is the intake and the exhaust and the engine will fit through the hull. If you purchase the built engine it should just fit right through. They haven't changed anything that I know of in the engine. You kind of have to play with it to get the bottom through but it does fit.
