15F UMI install

Hey, has anyone here installed UMI steering system on a 15F? I got (what I think) was a good deal on a used one from Ebay that includes everything needed for an install. How hard is the install, any tricks? Also, I remember reading somewhere that I would lose my reverse if I install this kit?

Sorry guys I've never done this before! Thanks for the help!!

Losing reverse?
If true, I just don't see how on 15F.

The stock steering holder supports the reverse mechanism, so I can invision someone messing up a steering system.

"Fits all years: STX, STX-F12, STX-F15, STX12R. NOTE: When used on any STX, reverse option is omitted."

I'll give it a try anyways, anyone recommend a good set of bars?

stock is on the right, see that little "P" on the lower left? I have to somehow machine that slot out so that I can fit it on to the UMI system. I'll be losing the SMART-steering system too which I don't mind...that should be ok tucked away somewhere in the hull right?

Re: 15F UMI install

Why not just install brass bushings in place of the plastic ones to keep the reverse etc plus save a bunch of money and work. Some upgrade hey-POS
