15f low rpm

what rpm's on average is everyone pulling with there 15f. i have an 05, just had the entire motor re-done under extended warrenty. runs good, but is weak. could only pull 43.6 mph on gps, and would barely rev to 6000 rpm. I use to get 60.7 mph. cant remember rpm. motor has new pistons, rings, all new valves, new head. im about 4.5 hours into the break-in. varying rpm, and running it up, but not holding it. seems to fall flat at 5500-6000rpm, and thats all it has. doesnt seem to have any punch. ive been without ski for many months so i really dont want to run back to dealer untill i get at least 10 hours on this motor. i know thats what the dealer will tell me. anyone have any ideas? pump and impeller look perfect. nothing blocking water intake. origional motor had 56 hours on it, then piston broke, and tore everything up.

Re: 15f low rpm

Throttle opening all the way? Bit simplistic, but start with the easier stuff. Running on all 4 cyl?

Re: 15f low rpm

Does it make a clicking sound after you turn off key???? if no sound that means idle control sensor is bad. Another thing is to look on top of gas tank and make sure all hoses going in and out are on tight. Check also the gas cap neck on the hull and check for cracks.

Re: 15f low rpm

I would assume it is still under warranty. I would keep running it for break in and then if it doesn't loosen up complain when you change the break in oil. There might just be an adjustment it needs.

Re: 15f low rpm

Ever find out what was causing your low rpm's? I have a 15F which is doing the same thing 6000rpm and any where from 45-50mph is all I can get out of it.
