15 f will not start.

went to take the ski out this morning to put some more break-in hours on the new engine. last time i rode it, i took the fuel tank down until
the gas warning beep came on because it had some gas in it that was 3 or so months old. i have an rpm problem which i explained in
an earlier post. figured the engine has only 2 hours on it and would work its way out. anyway, filled up with 89 ocatane. i turned on the key
and realized the low fuel warning was still beeping at me, and the fuel gauge still read empty. only one bar. it has atleast 10 gallons in it. ski will not fire.
turn over great, but will not start up and run. so i turned off the key and tryed again after 5 min or so. same thing. i am getting so fed up with this.
its an 05. 56 hours. motor went out at 54 hours with a piston dome breakage. everything internal in the motor is new. problem, is the dealer, although
treats me great, and does everything to make there customers happy, is very backed up. it could take weeks before they can diagnose the problem.
i hate my ski sitting in there back lot for months. they had it four months this last time. not really there fault, but waiting on kawasaki to ok all
the repairs. looks like another summer blown to hell with no riding. man this really sucks! anybody experience this type of problem?

Re: 15 f will not start.

Suggest you might want to take a look for a loose wire connection near the tank or guage??

Re: 15 f will not start.

Just did a quick read of what you put here.

As I have never seen a post with a similar lament, here's some simple things to try.

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Both cables.

Shake the pwc up and down, a good hard shake too.

If this doesn't work, and problems are the same, check to see if the fuel is getting to the engine.

This E 10 gas is way beyond "sucks". If there was gas in the tank the whole time pwc was "down", you probably have at least minor water seperation problems. Get all old out, fill with fresh new, to the top. Add Seafoam or Startron.

Re: 15 f will not start.

Why don't you check the tank probe electrical connection at the top ofthe tank? Unplugging it will simulate low fuel level and set off the alarm and flashing icon. Since the engine was out this may have not been securely reconnected. I'd also check the fuel pump connector in the same area.

Engien should fire up with fuel, compression and spark.

It took 4 months for Kawi to ok the repair? Did you call Kawi and ask why it takes so long to make a decision?

Re: 15 f will not start.

well, got ski back again. this time they replaced the fuel pump, and fuel sending unit.
was all excited to get it back. went out saturday morning. started up great, idled great,
gave it throttle, and it has the same origional problem as when i got it back with the new motor.
ski has half the power it should, will only hit 5000rpm, and top speed on gps is 44.6 . in slo mode
it hits a whopping 16mph, at 3000rpm. the shop has been good to me, and im getting real tired of this.
thank god i have that extended warranty. its up aug of next year, and im not keeping this thing.
so far, list of parts are, 4 pistons, all new rings, new sleeves, new valves, new guides, new head, new
fuel pump, new sending unit, and this damn thing will only do 44mph. out of water, rpm will shoot
right up to 7 somthing. in h20 5000 is all it will put out. anyboby have any ideas, im going back to
the shop again tomorrow. mabey fuel injectors? i dont know, and at this point, i dont know if they know either

Re: 15 f will not start.

15F can go into SLO mode by itself if there is a wiring/connection problem and the meter would not display SLO. If that's the case, whoever did a major work on the ski is most likely the responsible party - the stealership. Pin #4 of the ECU controls the SLO mode.

Most stealerships would just do that - shot gun repair.
