12f problem with beeper/steady tone, looking for advise

This is a strange problem, started this past weekend. If you sit on the ski and its calm, handlebars about center you can hear a soft tone, not the loud start beep beep but a solid softer tone. turn the bars away from center and it goes away, also if you slowly lift the back up or down it will quit. there is a wire loom under the pad, i think if i touched that it went away also. I did not do any disassembly at this time.
Would the recommendation be to pull the pad and the glove box compartment to look for rubbing or something. If i pull the compartment do i need to replace a gasket or seal ?
I have had the recalls done, not sure they are related.
Any info or tips here would be great, i have the service manual so that might help. The ski is on the lift at the cabin.

ski is an 03 12f about 150hrs or so.

Thanks for the time,
Joel

Sorry...No experience with this issue, but I think you're on the right track.....you've already narrowed it down considerably. No doubt it will quit all together when you pull the pad. I'm not near my ski, it's at the cabin also, but maybe can you 'diddle' the wires under the glove compartment while using a mirror to ident them as you go?
That tone really is an aid to locating the problem, methinks.

The beeper is located in the handlebar pad. Which comes off rather easily.
