Searching for riders/racers/shops in SF Bay Area

Raced my two 750 kawasaki stand-ups, back around '93 through '96. Just rode recreationally after that for a while but then the skis have sat for the last 5 years. Just pulled the motors out and started rebuilding. Looking for local riders as well as good tips for local shops for buying parts. Please respond if you can help with either. Thanks!

the best place to go around the bay area is the Ski Clinic in Antioch

Jerry - welcome back.

There are few of us (stand up and sit down) that ride Calero on a regular basis (weekends). If we're not there, we are at Woodward. PM me if you're planning on going out.

I go to Anderson if I and couple of others are riding. But when there are a few of us including non-riders and need someplace to setup shade, table, etc, Calero is the ideal place. I wish Anderson has a place to setup these.

Re: Searching for riders/racers/shops in SF Bay Area

Thanks everyone for the replies!!! I used to ride in Calero often and Anderson a few times ( I agree with dg2b, no place to setup and hang out) I started riding when I lived in Livermore, but moved out to San Jose back in '97. Tulloch was one of my favorite. New melones, Salt Springs for tuning the skis is great.

Anyways, I will check out the shops you recommended. I am mostly looking somewhere I can get technical advice when needed and pick up parts. Antioch is a little farther than I hoped, but will do it if it is worth it. Right now I just need two full sets of gaskets to completely rebuild my two 750's. One of my skis has an old MRD Fuel Injection setup that I have some questions on (Of course MRD is gone now!). I have one key question maybe someone can answer for me...

It seems some of the stock head gaskets only have small holes where the block and head have larger grooves where the water passes through. The gaskets are not made to restrict the flow are they? If I remember right my fuel injected ski was overheating quite easy. I also noticed the exhaust manifold gaskets are the same way. A small 1/4 inch hole in the gasket and larger grooves in the manifold and case. Don't worry I have already added a secondary water inlet from the pump and even went as far as verified all brass fittings were drilled out to the exact same sizes. Any knowledge to why the small holes in the gaskets? Am I supposed to cut them out? Thanks everyone!!!

If your looking for technical advice and parts, then you won't be disappointed with the Ski Clinic. Every gasket in stock, as well as thousands of other parts you might need. Everyone there would be willing to help you with any questions you have as well.
