Helmet Cam Trial & Error

Hey,
I tested out my helmet cam earlier this week at Sherman Island. The wind was at 25 MPH and there was about 3-4 foot chop on the main channel. Unfortunately, I needed to adjust the angle of the camera. Oh well, enjoy!

You just needed to to look up the whole time. It was better after your crash.

I was actually looking straight ahead most of the time. I mounted the camera on my helmet's visor. However the mount was angled down. So when I was looking forward, the camera was looking at the bow of the ski. When I bailed, the visor was pushed up. That is why it looked better.

I just inserted a wedge on the camera's mount. That should improve the angle, but well see. It looks like I need to go riding this week to test (Oh Darn).

It is an Oregon Scientific ATC-2K helmet cam. I won it at a DJSA event.

Re: Helmet Cam Trial & Error

The up and down is the big issue with the narrow angle of the ATC2K. The way I get the up and down right on my helmet cam is by squinting. Put on the helmet then squint and line up on the horizon. Get the cam level while squinting. Then you can squint when riding to check your aim.
