Deep Water Channel/Lost Isle Area/Windmill Cove maps

I hear talk of people going to ride at windmill cove, so I thought we could map out some of the key points of this area. I made a guess here, but give feedback and I will adjust the map.

The red line is the riding area

Re: Windmill Cove Map

Actually, that's not the best part of the area. The best part goes north. That's the Deep Water Channel.

Re: Windmill Cove Map

Windmill cove is the launch, but not the destination IMO.

Re: Windmill Cove Map

The Blue is the Deep Water Channel. This area is probably (dare I say) better than Indian Slough because there are MUCH bigger boats and tankers going through. There are also a lot of wake boarding boats too. The width is a lot wider too so there is a lot more space for boats and pwcs to operate in. And you have a bunch of marinas in the area and you don't have long idles like at Orwood.

WC = Windmill Cove
LI = Lost Isle
TL = Tiki Lagun
KI = Kings Island
H & H = Herman & Helens

Oh, and the other attachment is an arial picture of Lost Isle.

Re: Deep Water Channel/Lost Isle Area/Windmill Cove maps

For me, Windmill cove is the destination. I normally don't go too far from there. There is a lot of activity around there with ski beach and all the other beach areas to rest at. There is a constant flow of big and little boats. There is a wide channel with plenty of space to jump a wake even when there is another boat going the other direction on the oposite side of the channel. And if my old 550 ski breaks down, I don't have far to paddle. Many of the jet skiiers I have met out there launch out of Stockton which is ony a 5 minute ride away. I launch from Windmill cove since I am coming from Livermore, and I have NEVER had to wait in line to launch. Even Sunday before Memorial day. There is also a restaurant, bar, gasoline, and camping at Windmill Cove.
