theskiclinic.com

Recently just shortened a stock pole, and we have a full time fiberglass guy at the shop who does really good work. Not sure about making the hood lighter though, other than a AM hood.

Re: can anybody do hull reinforcements?

I just did my entire fx-1, plus installed fooholds, and made room for the 144mm SJ pump shoe. Glasswork is just messy and time consuming. Not too difficult, Im in Lodi and my sister lives in Roseville. Your only about an hour or so away from me. PM me if you want/need some help. here are somepics of my fx1 and the glasswork.94 FX-1 build

I reinforced my RN last year. I took attention to detail and check everything 3 times. You can do it if you take the time and research but if you decided to have someone else do it for you, make sure they know what they are doing or are professionals.

Don't get a friend's help to do it over a weekend and some beer unless the dude has done it many times before. It is a dirty and messy job and if not done right it will come right off. The fumes are also BAD for you.

p.s: It is not cheap to have it done by professional but worth every penny...IMO.

Re: can anybody do hull reinforcements?

you can lighten the hood alot! cut out that pos liner and make a new one. glass in the stock vents and cut new ones in like a rn hood. reinforcing is not hard. just takes time. theres alot of prep work if you want it done right.. look on xh20.com theres a ton of threads on all that
