Anyone want to repair a Virage ski?

On Morse in Noblesville, don't like to pay the $80 hourly mechanic rate, and have a Virage jet ski that won't start (I'm like my bicycle and kayaks). Its on a trailer so I can travel, but want someone local. Last year it won't start if it was damp inside, so we usually would take off the seat and let it air dry, then it would start. The battery and plugs are good.

If you like to fix these things and want to make a little (maybe $25 hour), please respond to me or this thread. Thanks. snyderx5@ahoo.com.

Virage? Who is that made by? What year is it? Could just use a good carb clean.

Re: Anyone want to repair a Virage ski?

2004 Polaris Virage.

Just to make sure I went and checked the gas (and it was full and stabilized from last fall). I undid the cap and heard a whissssss. For grins I tried starting it again and it started on the 3rd button push.

As soon as I put it in the water I will have the same problem as last year - if the engine compartment gets damp (humid day or rain), it won't start. Some times the electric gauge acts like the battery is disconnected. I have to take off the seat and let it air dry.

So, now that it starts I, at the very least, still have the electrical problem to deal with. I still would like someone to economically fix the electrical and a do basic tuneup (carb cleaning was mentioned by Mikey2274). I want it to start everytime without fear this year. If interested let me know.

I can take a peek at it if you want. I don' twork on Polaris that much....but carb rebuilds are pretty basic and I would recommend those, fuel filters and have a spark tester that can help determine what's up. I can also run through the wiring and see if you have something up with the stator.."likely" an issue from what you described. I'm up in Anderson area just off hwy 32

Re: Anyone want to repair a Virage ski?

Sure ...just let me know so I can work you in. My schedule is getting busy with Skis, Dirtbikes, ATV's and even working on folks cars. It's summer and the garage is getting crazy trying to keep things in order. What do you have...61X or 62T? Mods...etc?

Re: Anyone want to repair a Virage ski?

Ok...so what's wrong with it...jetting or ? I would get a stock waterbox for sure and ditch that TDR. It's a proven fact the stock box makes more HP then any aftermarket box!
