I didn't get to get out until after 1 PM. By then the glassy conditions disappeared and there was a 10 mph kona wind blowing.
Nevertheless, because I was traveling solo, the chop didn't present much of an issue, averaged 20 MPH. Decided to head east to the Makapuu area instead of offshore.
Only could find one somewhat large ulua (50#) but it wasn't in range before it zoomed off.
Saw the usuals - uhus, mus, etc but wasn't interested in any of those.
I slipped climbing out of the water after checking a spot and fractured my right middle finger by crushing it under me. I also got sucked into a vertical lava hole (only about 20 ft long so no biggie) and a vana was where I grabbed with my left hand to stop my downward tumble. Three barbs in my left middle finger.
What is it with my middle fingers?
Both hands hard/painful to use today and I need t load up a few hundred pounds of equipment (a friend's inflatable and motor) into my truck to do a dive off of the south side... Man!

P.S. Broke my longboard yesterday morning pulling into a unmakeable barrel at Off-The-Wall. At least it went out with a bang!
