Off On Friday - Good Weather Forecast - Going Diving

Aloha PWC users.

This Friday is a furlough day and I'm off work. We are supposedly having a variable wind day as well that day which is perfect for exploring on our PWC's. Let me know if anybody wants to come with on Friday morning. I will launch out of Hawaii Kai and base where we go diving/spearfishing on the conditions then.

If bumpy/crappy, we will dive locally within Maunalua Bay. Possibly the Corsair plane wreck and the barge wrecks.

If only slightly bumpy/crappy, we will probably swing east and explore dive spots all the way out to Moku Manu island and back.

If glassy and epic, we will do a run out to Penguin Banks and possibly the P FAD in search for Mahis, Ahis and Billfish.

Hope you get those epic conditions Paul!

Damn, I wish Furloughs applied to self-employed businesses (that's bad and good), lol.

Shoot, even if I were able to go, I'd just be a spectator as your awesome diving abilities are simply unmatched. Hey, maybe I could be a bag-boy for your fish, lol!

Good luck, be safe and hope you nail something big!

Re: Off On Friday - Good Weather Forecast - Going Diving

I didn't get to get out until after 1 PM. By then the glassy conditions disappeared and there was a 10 mph kona wind blowing.

Nevertheless, because I was traveling solo, the chop didn't present much of an issue, averaged 20 MPH. Decided to head east to the Makapuu area instead of offshore.

Only could find one somewhat large ulua (50#) but it wasn't in range before it zoomed off.

Saw the usuals - uhus, mus, etc but wasn't interested in any of those.

I slipped climbing out of the water after checking a spot and fractured my right middle finger by crushing it under me. I also got sucked into a vertical lava hole (only about 20 ft long so no biggie) and a vana was where I grabbed with my left hand to stop my downward tumble. Three barbs in my left middle finger.

What is it with my middle fingers?

Both hands hard/painful to use today and I need t load up a few hundred pounds of equipment (a friend's inflatable and motor) into my truck to do a dive off of the south side... Man!

-Paul

P.S. Broke my longboard yesterday morning pulling into a unmakeable barrel at Off-The-Wall. At least it went out with a bang!
