Oahu Jet Ski Shops/Performance Shops

Who are the go-to shops for Jet Skis or watercraft performance on Oahu?

How's the local Kawi dealer? Do they carry performance parts? Consign older skis?

Any guidance on the local scene for performance shops (if any) would be appreciated.

No luck here. You're limited to ordering performance parts through the internet and paying someone like Charles (Jetworks) to install. He does good work btw and is always willing to lend a hand when you're stuck on the beach. I saw him help this dude who flooded his ski after not screwing in his drain plugs. The water was to the top of the motor. They were working on it for hours and he finally got it started.

I use the guy at Cycle City. His name is Bruce and he is the only person I let touch my 250. He can get performance parts through the dealer for you if you want. He is Kawi certified and is considered (at least by me) one of the most knowledgeable persons on any Kawi ski. He is availible if you call Cycle City after 1pm. Tell him Mike sent you and you can get screamed at!!! Just kidding!

I have no idea whatsoever...

They looked like they were doing normal business when I was there less than a month ago.

What do you need done to your ski? I can do oil/filter changes pump work and maintenance. and much cheaper than the stealerships. I also turf skis on the side. I maintain mine and all my buddies skis.
Aloha,

Re: Oahu Jet Ski Shops/Performance Shops

Is anybody able to handle swapping out engine mounts on a 2005 FXHO? Yamaha dealer quoted 5 hours originally. Then tried to change it to 8 hours when I made the appointment saying they misquoted me. According to a couple of sources, the flat rate (which I understand is what Yamaha Corp expects this job to take for warranty purposes) is 4 hours. I'm willing to pay for 5, and am fighting with them about it now. They always try to walk all over me every time I need something done (which sadly is often) and I'm getting tired of it.

Bottom of this thread:

If anybody here works on the side, can handle this comfortably (I don't have a pulley winch system to lift the motor out), and wants this gig, let me know.
