Re: First Big Swell (MIkey would go)

I went.

From my facebook profile:
Today's big-wave towing session was decent. The wave sizes did not live up to the hype with the sets topping out at MAYBE 25 ft. I looked high and low for the biggest ones of the day, and even caught more waves than all the other tow teams out at Avalanches combined I think.
Jared and I made quick work of the line-up which was full of people who would miss/blow their chances, and then upon the completion of a wave, I would quickly surf over to the back of Jared and my Waverunner, and grab the tow rope then resume towing back out to the line-up and into another wave. No time wasted needing to be picked up, rescued, ... etc.
I did lose Jared's board at the end of the session when I got caught in a 20 foot close-out and we spent an hour looking all over for it. Gave up. Then in the parking lot, I got a text from somebody out there saying they found our board. WHEW!
Good times.

Swell isn't here yet and it's Monday morning...

I'm gonna go to work today.

Maybe see some of you out there tomorrow. Anybody going then?
