2005 FXHO w trailer for $4300 on Oahu!

The guy who sold me my FXHO for a great price of 5k (they are usually posted at about 7-9k on craigslist) got his second one back from the shop, and is leaving the island very soon. He wants to sell it fast and he's willing to sell it with a double trailer for $4300. It's a hell of a price and I would be all over it if I didn't already have one. Thought I'd let you guys know. Somebody jump on this.

Looks like mine and is in the same shape which is nowhere near a beauty queen or a show PWC but works fine. Does have brand new injectors.:

The FXHO is the best PWC for hawaii tow-in surfing and diving based on months of research and question asking. It is the most reliable and bulletproof PWC on the market. It has the deepest hull which provides for the smoothest ride possible in choppy conditions (typical of Hawaii). The Honda gets on a plane quicker but is a bumpier ride. The Kawasaki 12 and 15f gets slightly better mileage but are not as reliable (fuel pump issues typically). Seadoo has a shaky reputation based on their first few PWCs.

You can call or text him at 808 375 3639

Re: 2005 FXHO w trailer for $4300 on Oahu!

Went to look at it. Think we're going to pass. Not that it isn't a good value and might be good for the first time buyer, but there were a few issues that needed attention.

The hull has three major cracks from the two ski's banging each other. He patched them with resin but you can see the crack from the inside where it went all the way through the hull. The valves and injectors were recently replaced. He wasn't very clear as to why, just that the dealer recommended it. The engine ran okay but a little rougher than our '06 and '07 HO's. Inside the hull has a lot of debris and is generally rusting or oxydizing. The hull needs a good waxing as there is some oxydation. Speedo wheel sensor needs to be replaced. Reverse cable and trim cable sticks and might be rusting.

The double trailer needs some work. The bunks need to be re-aligned and the winch needs replacing. Also, the lights do not work.

This is a good deal for someone who doesn't have a ski and would like to get into the sport on a budget. There are a few issues but no real deal breakers if you have some mechanical skills. You just need to be willing to put in some time and money. For the price though, it would be worth it.

NADA average is $6200 without trailer. Trailer is about $900.

I should clarify, two cracks are in the upper section of the hull above the rub rail (bow and stbd side) and one is at the joint where the upper and lower sections come together (stern). I did not observe any major damage to the hull below the rub rail.

Ahha, now I know who you are.

Spoke with the seller today who said he was also missing the bucket that goes under the passenger seat. I know somebody with a wrecked PWC who said I could call him up anytime I needed a part and buy from him. The discount isn't that great I think but if you need one, let me know and I'll ask. For example, I could have gotten new replacement passenger seat for $160 plus shipping. I got it for $100 from the guy but it's hella heavy and has water in it I'm pretty sure. Guy claimed it would cost me $300 from the dealer...

By the way, my new Ez Loader 1250 trailer lost an important bolt right by the leaf springs - was caught by Yamaha dealer today and a temp bolt put in. I'm going to be calling up Spectrum Trailers tomorrow and telling them that I expect for them to reinstall all the bolts and nuts on my trailer with a threadlocker compound. I can't believe this happened, and I assume they did not use any threadlocker anywhere. I would have if I had assembled it myself. Beware.

You might be thinking of my brother. He spoke to you on the phone about a trailer.

Don't worry about the bolts. After a few dunks in the ocean, your bolts will be stuck forever!

Ahha. Vince's your brother then.

Anyways, the bolts won't be stuck if there aren't any bolts on there to get stuck in the first place... I'm still gonna call them up and make them take care of this.
