Will a 701 yamaha fit in a Kawi 550?

I was wondering if a 701 superjet motor would fit into a Kawasaki 550 hull? I want to do it because im kind of small and flat water is hard on my squarenose. Please PM me and let me know. Or you could email me at lrthunder15@aol.com.

Thanks.

It'll fit, but the motor would probably be worth more then the whole ski...
Besides, why would you go from a Square to a 550? The square nose rides so much better then a 550.

You might want to keep your eyes open for an FX-1, too. Yamaha already did all of the hard work of putting that 701 into a smaller hull...

Nope, pipe fits. And pump will work too, but will ride exactly the same as FX1 as the fx1 pump was designed after the 550 pump, they are "near" exact replica's

Its all relative. I went from a squarenose to a 550... only days I regret it are the days when I dont actually Want to exert myself to ride. I feel the 550 is overall less predictable than the SN hull, but overall I usually have more fun, though my ride time has been cut in half due to exhaustion of wrestling the ski. The bonus is its still a good 10lbs lighter than most aftermarket hulls after you do reinforcements. Mine is at 82, and I have a LOT of extra glass work on it.

If your not into doing all the mod work this might be a good option. Especially if you have not done this before. But fx1s are not cheap, and not easy to find. (and they are a good 30 lbs heavier) But if you do get an fx1 all you will have to do is the relatively easy 140mm pump swap. Unless you really have your eye on the gold, doing a pump swap in a 550 is a bit more difficult, expensive, and very time consuming.
