UK's First Freeride Competition

The Freestyle National Tour is proud to be holding the UK's first freeride event an competition.

Its on 13/14 March 2010 in Port Talbot in South Wales on Aberavon beach, south westerly facing to pick up some Atlantic swell.

Saturday will be practice and a clinic for people to learn some surf stuff and hopefully a backflip!
Sunday we will run a competition, based on the French Freeride rules and not the IFWA.

This event will hopefully be the first of many as the UK starts to embrace this freeride malarky.

Cool, is it going to be a big event?

I might pack my stuff and come and visit from the Netherlands. Is it possible to ride in the surf the days before the event allso? Here in the netherlands riding in the ocean is forbidden almost everywhere.

Is there a boatramp to lauch my ski from?

Hi Vin, yes you can launch there all the time. There is a ramp down to the beach and the sand is hard, although you can't take cars on the beach.

It would be great to see you, although be careful, once you've played in decent surf, its very hard going back to flatwater!!
