| pole limiting rope... i know ive seen or heard of some people doing it but i need more light shined on the situation before I do it to my fx1. The thing ive seen is someone using a celte from a sail boat on the bottom, then fixing the rope to the pole as usual. This allows for adjusting ur limiting rope and can also be used when traveling to hold the pole down... does this all sound familair, has anyone done it, pics? more info? I would appreciate some input before I goahead and order the clete and rope for mine....thx

| Re: pole limiting rope... It's not a necessary product for your ski, but some people see the need for one. I don't, though. I'm not sure how it would help my handle pole, other than it could keep the pole down, but in that case, I would just use a ratchet strap. If you wanted to mount the rope to your tray, I've seen people use cleats, and used silicone on the inside where it goes through, or some people just put the loop around their hood latch.

| Re: pole limiting rope... yeh, I don't like them, I don't want to get tangled in it. Sometimes Sh1T happens! I guess if I had a stock pole I would be concerned. |

| Re: pole limiting rope... The rope keeps the pole from over extending. I run one on my stock pole. If I did not have on installed, the pole would be broke by now. I just ate the cost and ordered one from Blowsion.

| Re: pole limiting rope... I made my own using rope and bungee from the hardware store. It's just a length of rope that doesn't allow your pole to overextend. I hooked one end around the handle pole bolt and the other through an eye I bolted to the bottom of my quicksteer. Bungee is tied off in the middle of the rope and I hooked the other end to the bracket holding my fire extinguisher (SN Superjet).
Zipties tie off each end.
Good luck.

It is a MUST for the surf. i dont see how you could possibly get tangled in one. the bungee is what keeps it from flopping around and keeps it tight.. push on your pole all the way and watch how much the bracket area flexes......

| Re: pole limiting rope... A pole limiting strap is basically a surf riding mod for stand up skis. It is a strap running from your pole to your dash which prevents your pole from over extending, breaking or ripping out the mounts of your mounting bracket. If you are a flat water rider it’s usually not necessary. You can buy one from Blowsion pre-made but they’re cheap and break easily. Most people make there own. I made mine from a 3/4'” nylon strap that I bought at a fabric store. After measuring to the correct length (Strap should stop pole extension just before it’s maxed out) I had the ends sewn into loops. On the pole I mounted it to a stainless loop bolted to the pole and on the dash I have another stainless loop. I use a stainless threaded link to connect the strap to the dash. I also run a small bungee from the center of the strap to the pole pivot bolt which helps keep the slack out of the strap when its not extended. My set up is bullet proof and everything, including the strap, stainless loops and links cost around $25.

| Re: pole limiting rope... Looks like there's been some good descriptions and pics already, but here's mine...
If you search, you can even find a decent sketch as to how to make one. I bought everything from True Value hardware. Quote:
