| Freestyle gear Hey everyone,
I am looking into buying some stand up jet ski riding gear. I am looking for wetsuit, gloves, helmet, goggles, shoes and life vest. I would like to know what you guys prefer when it comes to gear.
What kind of:
wetsuit?
gloves?
helmet?
goggles?
shoes?
life vest?

| Re: Freestyle gear helmet= bell bellistic or any downhill mountain bike/ bmx helmet. 661 ar. good. giro are good too. check out chainlove.com you can sometimes get em like less then half of retail.
shoes= most use wrestling shoes, but i like all star chucks with neoprene socks. they are only thin canvas, dont soak up much water and are real easy to swim with. they are real flat and thin so i feel i can wedge my feet farther in the holds. just add more padding/turf to the top of the footholds.
wetsuit= i like the 2 piece farmer john suits. you can take the jacket off when you get hot. on black friday i got one of those watercraft superstore john suits for 32$ shipped. i figured for that price i couldnt go wrong for a back up suit. i actually use it more than my expensive o'neil suit.
i dont see a need for goggles unless your racing.... |

| Re: Freestyle gear thanks for the feedback so far. I'm debating between a a jet pilot or slipper skate style shoe or what they call their race boots. Any feedback on that? Also can more people give me feedback regarding wetsuits? I am looking for a good 3/2mm I would like to know what people prefer either full suit or John style?

| Re: Freestyle gear -Shoes: Asics wrestling shoes. Check sports authority. I see them pop up on the discount racks for as low as 15 bucks sometimes.
-Helmet: Bell Bellistic or a Gyro
-Gloves: Mechanix. 15 bucks at walmart
-Wetsuit: Body glove
-Vest: Body Glove REV
I typically tend to spend the least amount of money on riding gear, and it always seems to hold up very well. I had 2 pairs of slippery gloves that fell apart super easy. The comp boots fall apart too.

| Re: Freestyle gear I had a pair of Asics that lasted me 3 seasons, but my parents decided it was finally time to get some new gear, lol. My new Nike wrestling shoes are real nice! Very comfortable and you don't have to untie them to get your feet in, sort of like skate-shoes. You might want to get yourself a set of watersocks as well! |
