building a freestyle need some help

I have a 90 superjet recently removed 6m6 and replaced it with the 61x 701 . I have a ADA girdled head with 35cc domes, a coffman exhaust, pro-tec mod CDI, protec extended ride plate and R&D scooped intake grate,Nutjet destryoer prop. I have a set of dual 38mm mikuni but no manifold to mount so that may go on later. So with that said does anyone have anything they could add to help with low end preformance or just perfomance in general?

Bored nozzle, lightened flywheel, Jetworks FCV, get your motor ported, have the 38s reworked or replace them with 44s.

Have you even ridden it yet the way it is? If not, save some $$ and ride it as is this season, then mod it some more in the off season, if you feel it needs more brap.

Re: building a freestyle need some help

maybe go with some 33cc or 31cc domes to get that higher compression but then you'll need to run some higher octane gas. My 61x that has been bored and ported with 31cc domes comes in at 180psi so you'll have to check yours and see where you are. Possibly look into a Factory B pipe. I've riden SJ's that still have the 38's and all the bolt ons and those carbs can really hit good.

Re: building a freestyle need some help

No I have not riden it yet , I just bought it a month ago cleaned it all up and swaped engines and went on a shopping spree. I appreciate the advice I only get to ride a few times this year so i might wait to install more parts and get those 38s cleaned up. once again thankwell s to both you for your help and hopefully i get to tear it up at the lake well try to lol

Re: building a freestyle need some help

31ccs on an unported stock bore motor will be in race gas territory. over 200 psi. dont bother with the 38's. 61x cases will run great with a single carb. my 46sbn hits hard. get a new prop. at least a solas concord. art from jetworks recomends a skat swirl

Re: building a freestyle need some help

he is in Colorado, I think his compression numbers are gonna be down a bit. You dang sea levelers never understand! Give it a comp test for sure, you might be lower than you think.. Heard lots of good about the hooker 9/15 from impros, but try your nujet it may work for you..

Re: building a freestyle need some help

thats what i was thinking on the compression numbers. was thinking about running 50/50 pump gas to race fuel just to be on the safe side.

that protech cdi is that the one where all they did was remove the rev limiter?

Re: building a freestyle need some help

cut your rideplate. I take old Ocean Pro rideplates and use a roll of duct tape as a template an cut a half moon. It's my version of the "kenney cutout" because I hit too many rocks to use a carbon fiber plate.
That with the Tubbies works awesome.
