need new pwc cover

I am new to the jet ski world but really enjoy the fun on the water. I live in the desert and need to trailer minimum 2 hrs. and many times longer like the trip we took to lake powell (7hrs.). I bought my 2008 stx 15s used and now need covers for protection while trailering any recommendations would be helpful. I have looked at jet tribe or kawasaki's oem but could use help.

Just go to any boat cover shop and have one made out of a high quality material. You will pay a little more but it will last 3x's as long.

for protection while trailering ? Dust & rocks ?
i'd say if your car isn't banged up from daily driving, your pwc will be fine too.
if this is just for trailering and its garage kept the rest of the time, i'd buy a cheapo ebay one, its only going to be used to keep rocks and dust off when your driving the car right ?

I have been told not to cover them while towing. I am confused, if no reason to cover while towing I may not need a cover as I keep skis stored in garage.

Your ski and car are fine untill a truck kicks up a rock or you drive through some fresh tar or road paint. I think you get the idea. Get the cover man.

Re: need new pwc cover

oem is usually a great choice. my yamaha oem is great on the trailer. my kawi oem finally gave out after 8 years of service. it was great on the trailer. i just had to put socks over the handlebars to keep them from chafing. otherwise the vacuum hold worked great.

Re: need new pwc cover

i have a yamaha oem its squished up in a cabinet somewhere in the garage, I think I put it on twice in the last two years.
i never used it for a tow.
for all practical purposes (granted this ski is nearly new) its for use when stored outside on trailer/lift.
or for extra protection i guess while trailering
the OP specifically mentioned trailering, then mentioned that its confusing him.
again, no cover needed in the garage unless your really a ski nerd ! (there's a thread for that !)
and overkill but acceptable to use for towing but i'd recommend OEM for a good custom fit
carry on.
