R-12x

Hello PWC Today,

So I'm looking into getting a PWC and have decided on a Honda R-12x. Any opinions on this model. I found a new 06 at a local shop but, they want to charge me around $1,400 more from the list price out the door. Is this normal? Also, looking for a low profile trailer.

Thanks.

Re: R-12x

What is the list price? Most dealerships are selling the Aquatrax way below msrp to move them. Check on ebay or craigslist for something fairly close. You shouldn't have to pay more than $7000 otd (new) and that would be on the high end. Another thing you may want to take into consideration is that Honda has discontinued production of their skis, and a replacement turbo is big $$$. If you are new to pwc and the maintenance, but are set on the Honda you might be better off with the non-turbo version. At your age most people will tell you to buy a stand up ski anyway. I had a r12x two seasons ago and it was a lot of fun, but nothing compared to a stand up ski. The aquatrax is very fast, but going fast gets boring. Look into the Kawasaki SX-R and the Yamaha Superjet. Good luck!
