A new PWC owner

G'day all, I've just recently bought an older Yamaha 760cc Waveblaster jetski. I'm having problems with vthe battery - starting it of late. The starter just seems to spin without actually turning the engine over. Is this likely due to a less than optimal charged battery? Any help wopuld be appreciated? Thanks, Nige

Re: A new PWC owner

Sorry I meant to ask - where do I locate the starter motor for the jetski? Do I have to remove any other parts to locate / change it? Thanks again, Nige

Welcome to the forum! On that model I believe you have to pull the exhaust to really have good access to the starter.

However, keep in mind it could be your starter bendix.

Is your battery FULLY charged and guaranteed to be good? If its weak, the starter may not be turning fast enough to engage the bendix.

Longman, make sure you have a good battery before doing anything else. By the way, welcome to PWC Today!
