Smile Hi From Ft Lauderdale

I'm a newbie from Ft lauderdale. Just bought 2 2004 yamaha xlt 1200 and excited about being out on the water. The weather needs to warm up and fast : ). If any of you have any parks/lakes in the South Florida area you can suggest to take the family it would be appreciated.

howdy AAALLLLLLLLLLLL the way from margate!

for general couch riding, your best bet is lake ida or lake osbourne in palm beach. the whole haulover/biscayne area is really nice too. theres also john lloyd park in ft lauderdale (port everglades).

Re: Hi From Ft Lauderdale

How warm does it need to be?, you guys down south are pretty spoiled! I checked the forecase in your area for fun just now and it looks like it is supposed to be 80 today and at least over 70 for most of the next couple weeks......if that was the temp here up north, we would all be on the water in about a second! Just teasing, congrats on your ski, good choice, you will have no shortage of beautiful places to ride with the family down there, be safe and have fun (you should take a boating safety class if you're new to the water, even if just to make sure you know all the rules and regs).

Re: Hi From Ft Lauderdale

I have to to look out for the little ones. I have a 4 yr old and 14 year old that will be going out with us every once in a while. Thanks for the heads up and all of the info. While here anyone ever have their throttle lock up while on the water. I posted this in the general forum. My throttle locked up after giving it just a little gas and when I let go it took off and the throttle was dead no tension. I had to pull the kill switch to stop it.

Re: Hi From Ft Lauderdale

sounds like either a bad cable or corroded carbs.

Re: Hi From Ft Lauderdale

nothing like spending money after just spending money lol...I sprayed what I call the spindle/the part the cable wraps around with a lubricant and it immediately turned back into place on it's own and seems to be ok as I have tested it out of the water about 100 times.
