World Finals Practice Is In Full swing....2009

Practice has started and racers from around the world are gathering at Crazy Beach to get ready for the 2009 World Finals. Jeff Troegner has expanded the Practice Track to look very much like a World Finals event. A special thanks to Jeff. He has over 20+ buoys out for a split track with some very interesting turns. Please help us with buoys especially the R/A racers. We saw 2 explode yesterday in a short 2 hour window. These are very expensive and we can not rely on 5-6 people to supply all the buoys for 400+ racers. Please if you are going to practice at Crazy Beach please bring one buoy with a weight. It was nice to see our friends from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Great Britain, Italy and of course the USA hit the track. We will post up pictures and stories as we move closer to the count down. I understand Blake is coming in Sunday night with his team and Scott and Shawn with their army are not far behind.....Dad

Ok it is that time of year. Give us the big names that you have seen out practicing so I can feel even worse about not getting any riding in.

Lee, what time have people been going out there to practice?? Will they be practicing during the weekend??

I'd like to come out and take some pictures, but I don't have four wheel drive, and am not sure exactly how to get down there. I know where the cliff is, overlooking everything, and I don't want to come out on my SeaDoo with all my camera equipment.

BTW, virtually nobody is doing any testing down at Body Beach. Someone was there the last two evenings after 5pm. Sounded like an open class R/A. Guess if I want to take some "spy" shots, I'm gonna have to go to Crazy.
Will anyone mind if they get their photo's taken?? Probably won't post anywhere, just need to practice with a couple of new lenses I got for my Nikon.

Body Beach testing is at sunrise until 7-8 am...the big names are here at the am.....practice at Crazy Beach is 3-4 pm until dark....but week ends will start at 9am until 5pm....bring your camera and tell anyone you need a lift to get pictures for a report to the news....someone will help you in and out....we are headed out now and will report in a couple of hours....Dad

Cool. I live just up the street from Body Beach, and I can hear them testing. I've been down there a few times, but am sworn to secrecy

I'm not with the news or anything like that. I just have a couple of new lenses for my Nikon that I need to practice with. These are different, and much better than anything I had a Parker.

I'll try to make it to the "cliffs" over Crazy sometime tomorrow, and see what I can get from there. I'll probably also drive down to Body Beach to see if anyone new is out there. Some of the guys don't want their pictures taken because of the secrecy, so I always ask first. Not going to post the pictures, just testing.

Me?? I used to race stand ups. Started in racing in 1979, and stopped in about 1983. Way to old and broke down now. I'll still "race" the Doo around the buoys, but only when no one is watching.
