| summing 2009 up nicolas rius, gp
kevin pro ski
kevin pro limited
klipper pro am stock
yuki kasahara pro women
keifer amateur open
jake expert limited
joey vet stock
purple laura novice women
some kid from the rest of the world on a thumper novice stock
K-ret was the big winner, he made two of my predictions come true, I had nicolas in gp but nicolas did not race gp so K-ret took that also, I had klipper winning pro-am stock and he did that, I had yuki kasahara winning the women and she won the second moto and was in third and coming in the first moto but she lost her boat so I was pretty on the ball there, I had mateo on the podium and some foreigner on a thumper winning well mateo got 4th in the first moto but his turbo stopped working in the second
anyway I never figured on lisa barsby cleaning the clocks of all the men in masters stock and masters open
or anya winning expert limited and amateur open, good on the girls and there girl power
as far as novice womens limited I had heard there was a girl tearing it up in europe but I wanted laura or katie to win
overall I think the hardest charger on the track on standups will go to jean baptise botti the guy never gets a good start but he charges from the back like no one else in this sport and the suprize to me was how hard rob flores charged from the back, he was passing some big names out there, fastest boat of the weekend was simon gills 3 pipe 1100 sxr, you will see it perform in my movie, its bullistic
I made use of my jet ski 101 and made bets all day sunday and won every bet, I wish I knew as much about football I would have a career here in vegas

| Re: summing 2009 up ABA BMX knows what's up. Five wins and congratulations, you are now an intermediate rider! Five more and you're the fast new expert on the block. Of course going Pro is always the riders decision since there is money, time and travel involved. The races are never borefests with one rider way out front and no action behind since all the riders have won their way up to that level and are proven to have what it takes to compete. Plus, there's an incentive to keep training and improving, or go home. Another thing along the lines of incentive to move up is ABA BMX puts their top level classes up front and center. How on Earth can jet skiing put kids classes on the Pro Weekend and make the Pro Ski Stock ( I refuse to use the term Pro-Am anymore, totally weak), Pro Sport and Expert Ski Limited guys run on Thursday and Friday??? Huh?? Even the SeaDoo challenge was better than watching the kids race. I'd much rather watch Kanamori, Klipper, Kevin R., Elvis, Fish, and the rest battle it out, and I'm sure their sponsors feel the same.
If anyone knows how to move this to another topic/thread please do. I just realized that I went off on a tangent.

| Re: summing 2009 up Okay since there was a tangent already derailing the thread a bit (and a good one I might add) I will add my point of view. First let me say this was my second year in a row attending. Previous to that I think I last attended finals somewhere around 15-17 years ago. I didn't jet ski during that time and only got into it again about 2 years ago. And I am not a racer ( I hang out with a bunch of buoy chasers), I love jetskiing and enjoy riding leaning towards freestyle.
After last year I was surprised at the amount of controversy following the finals. I was also a bit confused as to why there isn't more of a break down in classes. Hydro's really don't belong in Novice. Novice should be for those looking to begin their racing careers/lifes/whatever you want to call it. Spending over $10,000 grand on a ski is not novice friendly. It makes more people not want to race then encourages people to race. For all I care Pro's can ride what ever they want (hence being a Pro), but novice/intermediate should be a bit more cost friendly to newer riders or those just getting their skill levels past novice. Also there is riders in Novice that are obviously not novice riders and on novice equipment. Also Sat and SUnday should be the big boys, I love watching the kids, but maybe only have their final moto on Sat. I understand with school that can be difficult, but hey, when I was a kid I would miss Thurs and Frid of school (having to bust my *** to make up my missing classwork) to attend ABA Nationals (BMX for those of you that are slow).
I got off track on what I really wanted to say, with so much controversy, why isn't anything ever balanced out or changed. The racers need a balance and the the spectators need something a bit more exciting to watch. This can be accomplished by actually listening to all parties involved and working to better the sport. You can't please everyone, but I am POSITIVE you could make the events much more enjoyable for many racers and spectators. With all the controversy always following this event (and there will always be some) I would have thought changes would be made.
Also I think freestyle needs another class or two (ran on the first/second day) for more beginners skill levels not riding custom hulls with big bore motors and the amateurs and pros need routines and different point criteria like Rick Roy was saying in his speech. Whole different subject I could write a page about.
Anyways, I'll stop there, MO thanks for the updates and get that video up.
