Thumbs down bogus call

Since when does expert ski not hit the log jump .What a disappointment to the fans and the racers that have trained all year for it .Afterall it can make or break a championship it could also make or break a hydrospace . So I guess in future years when an expert decides to go pro they are going to look like novices out there. TOTAL DISAPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!

Re: bogus call

I agree on that being totally weak. Even Pro-Am Ski Stock didn't hit the log lumps. What the ??? BTW - What the heck is Pro-AM all about - very confusing and sounds very busch league.

Re: bogus call

I do agree that others should have been allowed to do the log jump. Amateur on up. However as a spectator when it comes to stand ups, I think the LOG jump is weak. They should not have it at all. What they need is a ramp jump option. Either you jump it and then have a shorter course or bypass it but have to go further. I saw this at the Phraump race and that added some value.

I was watching the race with some people that came to watch racing...and they basically said the "log jump was dumb".

Wanna make the sport better...listen to the people. If you don't listen to the people, the sport will never grow.

Re: bogus call

Ah.... The Good Old Days. When I started racing in 1991 ALL ski riders went over the log jumps with the exception of beginners. Even Novice Women if I remember right. You could only race three times in beginner and then you were an official Novice, usually with four digit numbers. Also, since I had a 440 Superstock I was not allowed to race in beginner (stock skis only) - straight to Novice 440 Super - straight to log jumps. Back then there were usually three, some times four of them per lap, even ramps too. I got stuck teeter-tottered on them on my first race! The final round of BC Racing series in Marine Stadium had four log jumps and a ramp - all mandatory. The 12 lap finals meant 60 jumps to win a Novice Ski race. This year Pro Ski Stock did not do one log jump, what happened to our cajones? BTW, I hate the log jumps since they look so cheesy to spectators and ruin skis, but at least it's some kind of equalizer and has a little "extreme" value.

Re: bogus call

I didn't get it across in my post, but the Pro Stock guys were not too thrilled about not doing the logs. I don't blame them. I know them Kawi's would have been grinning.
